About Lawden

Lawden was founded in 2024 by a team of legal operations professionals and software engineers who had spent years inside law firms. We saw firsthand how deal teams pieced together generic file-sharing tools, email chains, and spreadsheets — and how much time, money, and trust that fragmentation cost.

A single M&A transaction could involve fourteen different tools across six parties. Documents were lost in email threads. Permission management was an afterthought. Client portals, when they existed at all, looked like they were designed in 2005.

We set out to build the workspace legal transactions deserved. One place for documents, tasks, communication, and permissions. Designed for the way legal teams actually work — not for how software vendors wished they worked.

Within six months of our private beta, we had over forty firms using Lawden to manage live matters. The feedback was clear: the platform filled a gap that general-purpose tools had ignored for years.

Today, Lawden serves law firms and legal departments across the United States and Europe. We remain focused on a single mission: make legal transactions faster, more secure, and more transparent for everyone involved.
